The Day Before the Party
Make and refrigerate any food that can be made ahead of the party
Check your party menu to see which items can be made ahead of time and put it in the fridge e.g., dips and pizzas.
Bake and decorate the cake if you're doing it yourself
You could decorate the cake according to your party theme e.g., Thomas and Friends or Jolly Pirates.
Make sure that you have all the equipment and props that you will need for the party
Equipment and props that you might need include:
- Dressing up clothes and other props for games
- Matches to light the candles on the cake
- Balloons
- Name cards for children if you're going to organise table settings
- Prizes
- Party Bags
Make sure the party venue is child-proof and safe
- Remove all breakables, and tidy away anything of value.
- Where the party is for very young children, make sure that all electric sockets are covered, and there are no loose cables within grabbing distance.
- If you are holding the party outdoors, double check that the area is safe.
